OTM: Tell us a little about yourself. What do you do when you’re not modeling?
Shayla: When I am not modeling, I’m working. When I’m not working I like to read new books, watch documentaries and read up on inspirational people. I also like to write poems and stories to myself and come up with new goals.
OTM: Tell us something we wouldn’t know about you.
Shayla: I was bullied in the 4th and 5th grade for being more developed than the others and I tend to think that was the start of my self-love. I just constantly told myself that they were just confused and uncomfortable with how comfortable I was with myself.
OTM: Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
Shayla: In 5 years, I hope to have started my clothing brand and got it off to a good start. I hope to have become someone known modeling wise with my foot in the door to more freelance modeling.
OTM: If you could give advice to an up and coming model what would you tell them?
Shayla: Advice for an upcoming model would be to never give up. The industry is always changing and always looking for something new. Don’t get discouraged, and continue to push yourself if this is something you really want. Get out of your comfort zone and watch everything fall into place.
OTM: What’s one word to describe yourself?
