GOP finally unveils tax plan.
House Republicans introduced the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act this past Thursday, a plan that could increase the deficit by more than $1 trillion. The bill would slash the corporate tax rate to 20 percent, eliminate some deductions, and reduce the number of individual tax brackets from seven to four. It also proposes the tax rate on money multinationals moving back to the US from overseas is cut from 35 percent to just 12 percent.

Transgender Americans serving in the US military or hoping to join can finally breathe a little easier. On Monday, a federal judge blocked key components of President Donald Trump’s memo seeking to ban transgender people from the military bringing back the policy issued by the Obama administration.
Documents showing offshore corruption.
13.4 million of leaked documents dubbed by the Paradise Papers has been published by the International Consortium of Investigative Journalists (ICIJ) exposing the offshore banking activities of more than 120 politicians around the world. Included in the leak are documents connecting U.S. Commerce Secretary and billionaire financier Wilbur Ross to a shipping company that does business with Russian President Vladimir Putin’s son-in-law.
